Textile design gives me the opportunity to work with my love of fabrics as well as mixed media and drawing. Drawing plays an important role for me, the start of my ideas. I enjoy being able to link drawing through to the final pieces. I am a firm believer of thorough research as I understand it is the key to all good end results. I have found that I enjoy working from nature and natural forms as I find it incredibly interesting and it furthers my inspiration. I have found since art foundation I am able to make sound starting points for projects and work from briefs well. I feel foundation widened my imagination and strengthened my ability which has also given me a more open minded view to new things.
I tend to use a small colour palette, as I prefer to work with softer more subtle shades, but can show how to use a larger more vibrant palette as well. I find using a small palette sometimes helps stretch my imagination and boundaries. As well as being perfectionist I always strive to improve.
The images I have chosen are a mixture of work, which will hopefully show some of my skills and potential. I have chosen images that I am most proud of and which have been most enjoyable.I sometimes like to use CAD as this helps me gain ideas for myself with things such as print.I would describe myself as a reserved worker, hard working, even though I can project opinions if needed too. I feel I can show strong potential as I have great commitment and passion for the subject.
The course you are offering will help me to evolve further and develop myself as a textile artist within the industry, helping me to create impressionable work and further my career.
