Ana Holck

Again Ana Holck is an artist seen in the exhibition 'Lost in lace'. I like the idea that this is not what you would call lace-contemporary approach,as well as the scale of work. I also like that the hexagonal shapes are similar shapes that make up the Eden projects domes.

The Rack 2010

Annie Bascoul

I saw Annie Bascoul's work in 'Lost in Lace'. After looking into more of her work, I found some more pieces that interested me, like the projected peice as well as this piece that looks like a tree. This got me thinking about scale and how I could make it on a large scale.

Imagery

I have been playing about with colour and images to try and create abstract imagery by using my photographs and cellulose thinner to transfer on to paper as well as other surfaces.

Contextual Research

Saw this in East Midlands airport-From reading the plaque the brief was similar to our unit x brief, old and new. This tree is meant to be presentational of east Midlands, this being by the bottom of the tree representing the old-the history of the local area.represents all of the modern technological businesses in the area. There are some green leaves within the modern section, these represent the idea that history always continues. Interesting.
This got me thinking, I was looking at nature, but this building was so new so crisp, how could I involve both these together.

I found this whilst looking on the internet through some blog's. I must say I wasn't aware what yarn bombing was but as I looked into realised I had seen it before just not on such a large scale. I think these pictures are really fun and interesting.

Research-Yarn Bombing

A little more yarn bombing.
I found this image on the internet whilst looking at through American yarn bombing... more subtle than the yarn bombing ide seen before. I like the idea that you can still see through the wire and that it’s not completely covered.

3d Marquette's

More 3d Marquette's.

After seeing the secret garden post on 'bloglovin' its made me think that my dome shaped hangings could have a little more to them than meets the eye. instead of just talking inspiration outside in gardens why not use it inside them as well.
