Market Research-Locating
Rag rugs on the high street are still selling in places that specialise in vintage and shabby chic interiors like these ones in Urban Outfitters.
Here I have been looking at how I could mix colours with the both types of rag rugging.

Sampling-Locating
I found this quick and simple method of making rag rugs on pinterest. I plan to use this method to create my experimental samples, although this is not the original way of making a rag rug I will be able to create more samples as it is much quicker, I think this works well as I am just wanting to create a vision not a real rug.

These images have made me think about 3 dimensional shapes and how I could create shape using my samples.

Locating
I had an induction on the tufting machines today, tufting machines can be used to create rugs and raised surfaces. I thought this would be an interesting machine to create some samples, by using different weights of yarn as well as a way to experiment with colour mixing.
Samples to come.
