Inspiration-Unit X

These photographs are of the inside of a discarded boiler, I am hoping to use these to further my ideas.

Inspiration

I needed to get some more inspiration, so spent the day looking for interesting surfaces. Instead of looking at plants, I started to look at the more hidden parts of nature in the gardens. The different types of mould and different colours it creates, as well as texture of walls and bark to further my research.

3d Sampling

So I have been sewing on top of tissue paper and acetate and I have realised that its sort of makes its own shapes when worked into. I also like the back of the sewing more than the front as its more textured but you can still see the tissue through the clear acetate. This got me thinking I could use my photography of plants mould(Photoshop) etc. This as imagery on the tissue paper, introducing colour as well.

Sampling

This is an image from the Eden project, thought this was really interesting. Mould on the soil.
By using paper and thread to sew similar shapes I have come up with these.

Sampling

By using dis-solvable fabric I have been tiring to create the feeling of garden plants like shown above. The image is what I have been taking inspiration from. I have used cotton thread and also invisible thread which I really liked(although its very time consuming). I thought that something like this draped on walls, like the images below would be an interesting idea, maybe projecting other images on top. Or even the other way around as on a large scale this would need a long period of time to produce.
