Week One

From research undertook over the summer holidays I have collated various types of imagery in which I feel interesting as well as appropriate to this project, this was order to trigger and create ideas and challenges that could be expanded into a personal brief for this current practice unit. These images in which I have become interested in have arisen from a recent trip to Barcelona where I was lucky enough to visit the beautiful Park Guell gardens created by the famous artist Gaudi. These images are exciting and what I believe to be the perfect made unperfect translated by broken tiles. I feel the colours that are shown on these photographs are ones that I would not usually become attached to however I feel this could be a way of challenge my work methods. I find the simple shapes seen within the images of interest and particularly like the broken floral imagery seen within the images below. At this current time I feel my project is to be aimed at looking at the beauty of these broken tiles in which we call mosaics which appear to myself as fragments of beauty, which I feel could lead to the theme of my brief.
